There are many ways I can add value to your communications strategy. As these case studies strive to demonstrate, I can apply my copywriting experience in a whole variety of ways. You'll find I'm happy to work with different members of your team, or different departments with contrasting responsibilities.
As well as writing copy, I have access to lots of other disciplines, able to create a virtual agency with web and SEO experts, photographers, graphic designers, artwork specialists, print buyers
- the list goes on. Alternatively, I'm just as happy working with your appointed suppliers.
This global corporation is a world leader in computer solutions. Its business activities span all sorts of sectors, just as it chooses many ways to communicate its activities, values and
achievements. Here are just some of the projects I have been involved with...
Press advertising
Briefed by the sponsorship team at Unisys EMEA Head Quarters in London, the object here was to strengthen the links between
the company’s core activities and its involvement with professional golf. The ads appeared in specialised golf magazines, lifestyle and in-flight
publications.
Also featured here is a B2B ad promoting the benefits of migrating to the company's latest servers.
Direct Mail campaigns
Working on the theme of the prize fighter, I wrote this step-by-step teaser campaign which combined print and a mini-CD, culminating in a ticket for a ring-side seat at the live presentation of Unisys' latest telecoms solution. The multi-media CD and its accompanying collateral won a prestigious award for electronic media.

Corporate Hospitality
With the look and feel of an exclusive boutique hotel, this venue is actually Unisys’ Management Centre in the South of France.
Calling for a different tone of voice, the copy had to be at once inviting and yet still say, ‘we mean business’. Plus the brochure and its associated folder and mailing letter had to work for two
audiences: internal management as well as companies on the outside being encouraged to use the facility.
Flyers
Folders, mail shots, themed or stand alone, I worked with the company's in-house design team to create all kinds of print material
to promote the Unisys brand.
Product information brochures
Much of my writing focused on business to business collateral, explaining and promoting the benefits of particular IT solutions.
Tackling new technology, grasping the key benefits and talking to - not down to - business decision leaders in accessible language were important aspects of the communication task.
White papers
I can add value and clarity, even when the subject matter is relatively complex. Where one set of experts needs to share
information, discuss industry trends or explain product features, I'll help authors and specialists edit their text to organise content and prioritize ideas. Together, we'll make sure we get
the message across to each and every one of our target audiences.
Microsites
Sharing best practice and networking with other corporations are central to Unisys' approach. The company organises special events
to bring opinion leaders together. As part of the build-up to these events, I was invited to write the copy for micro-sites that would set the scene, talk about the choice of venue and create the
right kind of buzz. This called for different writing skills again - a good deal of research and the ability to bring a journalistic touch to the copy.
Sponsorship
As well as supporting its regular golf sponsorship activities, I was invited to write material to promote and track Unisys' involvement in sailing's Global Challenge. Working with the US team of fellow sponsors EMC, we prepared press releases, web content and more in order to promote shared values of enterprise, courage, team work and adventure.
